      Course Details – Rich Harvest Farms is a world-class golf-only facility owned and designed by Mr. Jerry Rich. In 1987, Jerry began the development of Rich Harvest Farms and ten years later, all 18 holes were completed. It was rated 5th Best New Private Golf Course by Golf Digest in 1997 and three years later, made Golf Digest’s America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses. Rich Harvest Farms has hosted the 2009 Solheim Cup, 2015 Palmer Cup, 2017 NCAA Men’s and Women’s National Championship and continually hosts multiple tournaments each year. For 2021 we will be hosting the Palmer Cup and the Northern Illinois Intercollegiate.  Rich Harvest Farms is currently ranked 94 in the Golf Digest ranking.

      Twin Orchard Country Club is a private 36 hole golf club in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We are seeking a qualified Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance team on the Red Golf Course.  The potential candidate will be involved in all aspects of maintenance/management of one of the 18-hole golf courses, club grounds, and any other duties assigned to the Agronomy Department.  Candidate must possess ability to work within and build a team environment. This position will be available immediately. The Golf Course Superintendent will work with and report directly to the Director of Agronomy.  

      Duties include but are not limited to:

      • Management of staff on a daily basis
      • Development of fertilizer and chemical programs
      • Oversight/programming of central irrigation system
      • Management of creeping bentgrass playing surfaces
      • Oversight of golf course projects
      • Budgeting and purchasing
      • Supply inventory management
      • Employee training
      • Employee safety
      • Occasional pesticide applications

      Golf Course Maintenance Specialist: The Preserve at Oak Meadows

      Job Purpose

      This position performs manual labor in a variety of maintenance/construction tasks at the District golf courses and assists in the training and leading of seasonal employees. 

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

      • Assist in maintenance and repair of irrigation and drainage systems
      • Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including mowing turf and pruning of shrubs, trees, and other tasks to maintain golf playing surfaces
      • Assist in training and leading seasonal employees
      • Perform routine maintenance on a wide variety of tools, machinery and equipment
      • Assist in repair and maintenance of golf cart paths and property fences
      • Assist in construction of new golf course features. Prepare and grade soil areas for turf grass seed planting
      • Apply plant protectant and fertilizers
      • Transport equipment to variety of district locations
      • Perform snow removal and landscaping around golf clubhouse
      • Perform other duties as required

      Education and Experience Required 

      Education:  Coursework in Horticulture, Agronomy, or Turf Management 

      Related Experience:  Two (2) years’ experience in golf course maintenance or similar position; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  Pesticide operator’s license preferred.   

      Knowledge Of:  Methods, practices, materials, and equipment used in the care and maintenance of golf course tees, greens, fairways, and roughs; chemical applications used to cultivate turf greens, plants, shrubs, and tees; variety of horticulture practices; occupational hazards and proper safety precautions; game of golf. 

      Skills In:  Preparing, establishing, and maintaining turf, tees, shrubbery, and ornamental beds; operation and maintenance of a variety of equipment used in golf course maintenance; installation and maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems.
