Senior Assistant Superintendent
Northmoor Country Club, Highland Park, IllinoisNorthmoor Country Club, originally a Donald Ross design, is located in Highland Park, Illinois in the golf-rich North Shore of Chicago. A distinguished club established in 1918, Northmoor is one of the premier country clubs in the area. Northmoor boasts 27 holes of golf, practice facility, a strong racquet program, platform tennis, a Junior-Olympic size swimming pool and multiple dining options.
As the Club looks ahead to the future, they have hired Tyler Rae to renovate 9 of the 27 holes beginning in September of 2021. The project will solve large-scale drainage issues across the property and will make way for a completely redesigned 9-hole course with USGA greens, Better Billy Bunkers, new 2-wire Toro irrigation system, new tees, fairways and the removal of several hundred trees. This will take place while the other 18 holes remain open to play during the 2022 season.
With all this in mind, we are looking for someone with a strong personality, skillset and more than anything, a perpetually positive attitude. Risk will be taken, mistakes will be made, and we will all continue to learn and better ourselves. While there is no room for complacency, I do believe in a work-life balance; I have a family of my own. The longer we are there does not translate to better conditions and player enjoyment. I believe in efficiency, effective time management and putting others before yourself. Personal character and leadership qualities will have more of an impact here than tactical abilities. The right candidate should have the overarching goal of one day moving on to their own Superintendent role. I will do whatever I can to help achieve that through my extensive networking system, both locally and nationally. This will be a phenomenal learning and career-advancement opportunity.
